On February 5, the RA Minister of Defense Vagharshak Harutyunyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to the Republic of Armenia Jonathan Lacotte accompanied by the Military Attaché of the French Embassy in Armenia Danny Pitt (residence in Tbilisi).
Issues related to regional security and bilateral cooperation in the field of defense were discussed during the meeting. The RA Minister of Defense also presented the security environment of the region, threats and expected developments.
Ambassador Lacotte, for his part, noted that the situation has always been in the focus of the French leadership during and after the hostilities. Speaking about bilateral cooperation in the field of defense, the Ambassador informed about the proposal of a number of programs aimed at the multilateral development of cooperation, which was accepted by the Minister of Defense.
An agreement was reached on a number of measures to promote cooperation over the next month.
