Armenia's economic activity index in 2020 has decreased by 7.5% compared to 2019. 1lurer.am learned about this from the publication of the RA Statistical Committee.
The volume of industrial production decreased by 0.9%, the volume of gross agricultural output increased by 1.4%. The volume of construction last year decreased by 9.5%, trade turnover - by 14%, and the volume of services - by 14.7%. 1.2% growth was registered in the field of electricity production. A decrease was registered in the sphere of foreign trade - 13.2%, of which 3.9% decreased in exports, 17.7% - in imports.
Despite the annual decline, a significant positive shift was observed in the economy at the end of the year. In December 2020, as compared to November, the economic activity index increased by 27.7%, the volume of industrial production - by 14.4%, construction - by 77.7%, trade turnover - by 34.6%, the volume of services - by 16.3%, the volume of electricity production - by 15.9%. The growth of foreign trade was 21.3%, of which 22.8% increased exports and 20.6% imports.
