The lowest temperature in the last 13 years was recorded last night. In Ashotsk, mercury dropped below zero to 35 degrees Celsius. The sharp drop in temperature after the January 19 precipitation is due to the cold Scandinavian currents.
According to Gagik Surenyan, a representative of the Ministry of Environment, the last time - 35 degrees Celsius in Ashotsk was in 2008.
Up to 30 degrees Celsius was registered in the mountainous settlements of Aparan, Kotayk and Sisian. Frosts were also registered in the Araks Valley, up to 20 degrees, it was warmer in the highlands of Yerevan than in Ararat.
