As of January 15 of this year, a coronavirus hotbed was detected in Noragyugh and Hovsepavan communities of Askeran region in Artsakh. In recent days, 261 tests have been performed, of which 143 new cases of coronavirus disease have been confirmed among the residents of the mentioned communities. Partial quarantine has been imposed in those communities, and exit and entry restrictions apply.
Specialists of the "Center for Epidemiology and Hygiene" state non-profit organization carried out disinfection work in approved hotbeds, including educational institutions. They also took samples from the contact persons for testing.
A total of 2,174 cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Artsakh, 31 of which resulted in death. At present, 36 infected people are receiving inpatient treatment for coronavirus disease. 18,184 tests were performed.
