The situation in Nagorno-Karabakh is calm, with the Russian peacekeeping force monitoring the ceasefire and security of movement. The Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this at the trilateral meeting of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
"At the request of the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides, a Russian peacekeeping contingent has been deployed in the Nagorno Karabakh contact line and the Lachin corridor to control the ceasefire.
An effective ceasefire system has been set up. There are 23 observation posts in the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeepers, and 4 additional checkpoints provide "corridor" traffic. Currently the situation in the region is calm", he said.
