The act of shooting down a russian military helicopter on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan on November 9, 2020 has been re-qualified under the article, envisaging a heavier punishment (premeditated murder), Interfax reported, citing its sources.
"The criminal case, which was originally initiated under the Article 351 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of the rules of flight or their preparation, which caused the death of a person by negligence) was re-qualified under the Article 105, Part 2 (premeditated murder of two or more persons)", - said the source of the agency.
According to the source, the case is being investigated by the military investigators stationed at the Russian base in Gyumri, Armenia.
On November 9, the Azerbaijani armed forces shot down a Mi-24 russian helicopter accompanying Russian peacekeepers near the Armenian border in Yeraskh, as a result of which one of the helicopter pilots was killed and the other was wounded.
