The specialists of the Mine Action Center of the RF Ministry of Defense continue demining the territory of Nagorno Karabakh.
During the operation, the engineering units of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Nagorno Karabakh demined more than 400 hectares of land, about 151 kilometers of roads, 617 buildings, 22 of which are significant social facilities. More than 16,000 explosives were found and neutralized, according to the website of the Russian Defense Ministry.
In demining and clearing the area of explosive devices in Nagorno-Karabakh, Russian peacekeepers use modern robotic equipment, which allows them to maintain a high rate of demining in mountainous terrain and worsening weather conditions.
Detected explosives are taken out and destroyed in a specially equipped place. The ammunition, which can not be evacuated, is destroyed on the spot, providing all the necessary security measures, said the RF Ministry of Defense.
