The Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russia-1 TV how the Russian President Putin tried to reach a ceasefire in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.
According to RIA Novosti, Peskov said that the establishment of a ceasefire was became possible due to the friendly relations with Yerevan and Baku.
"It is difficult to overestimate his efforts. None of us can imagine what that means. The president personally did it, not hanging up his phone for days", Putin's spokesman said.
He noted that during that time, the Russian President also had frequent contacts with the Turkish President Erdogan.
