The Russian government has banned the state purchase of medical masks from other countries until December 31, 2021, except for the EEU member states. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
In late April, the government decided to impose a ban on imported industrial goods for public procurement, as well as for defense and national security needs. Restrictions do not apply to the products of the EEU countries. There are a number of exceptions to the ban, such as the absence of goods approved in Russia.
The list of prohibited products, in particular, includes medical supplies, including surgical supplies.
