The Russian authorities approved the use of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine for people over 60 years old, the BBC Russian Service reports.
"The Ministry of Health approved changes to the instruction on medical use. Now the Sputnik V vaccine is allowed for use in people aged 18 years and older. Thus, citizens over 60 years old can now also be vaccinated against a new coronavirus infection", said the department head Mikhail Murashko.
Meanwhile, in Russia, the number of infections since the pandemic began, on Saturday reached three million. Over the past day, about 29 thousand new cases of the disease have been confirmed, 567 have died. The most of the new cases confirmed in Moscow - 19.7 thousand people were infected per day.
