In 2019, 248 foreigners applied for asylum in Armenia. 1lurer.am learned about this from the publication of the RA Statistical Committee. 107 of them were citizens of Iran, 37 - of Syria, 33 - of Cuba, 21 - of Iraq.
116 of the asylum seekers were granted refugee status, at the same time, the refugee status of 89 people was terminated. The majority of asylum seekers are under 65 years old, mostly 18-34 years old.
