The Armenian NPP and Rosatom-owned TVEL have signed documents on the supply of Russian nuclear fuel in 2021, which will meet the demand for fresh nuclear fuel.
The Armenian NPP is one of the main sources of electricity in the country. The plant generates about 40% of Armenia's electricity annually.
"The long-term cooperation between TVEL Fuel Company and the Armenian NPP is of a strategic nature. We are ready to provide Russian nuclear fuel to the Armenain nuclear power plant until the end of its service", said Natalia Nikipelova, President of TVEL.
