At today's Government sitting, the Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan touched upon the work of locating border checkpoints in Syunik region.
"There are certain nuances and complications there. We are convinced that this work must take place, because that work is necessary from the point of view of ensuring the security of Syunik and the Republic of Armenia. It is our position, the position of the Ministry of Defense - with this activity we increase the security guarantees of Syunik and create a new system of security guarantees for Syunik, for Armenia.
We have two settlements where some questions may arise. One is Vorotan community, the other is Shurnukh settlement, where there are certain border issues, around which daily work is done, and these issues can lead to some painful situations. But I want to assure that in all cases, the Government will do everuthing, with adequate compensations, and the interests of our citizens will be fully protected", the RA Prime Minister assured.
Pashinyan considered it important to provide accurate information on this topic, as, according to him, there can be hundreds of publications about a case in the press, and they can create a large-scale impression.
Pashinyan also said that in the morning he had a discussion with the commander of the Armenian border troops and gave specific instructions.
