Azerbaijan is delaying the visit of the UNESCO mission to Nagorno Karabakh to assess the state of cultural values. This was reported by Ernesto Otto, UNESCO Assistant Director-General.
He also said that they had applied to the Azerbaijani authorities several times so far, but without success.
Each passing week makes it more difficult to assess the state of cultural values, especially because of the expected weather in the coming weeks.
"Preservation of the heritage is an important condition for lasting peace", the official said.
