The EU failed to hold a trilateral meeting with the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia. The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell stated this, Interfax reported.
The EU diplomat tried to hold a trilateral meeting with the two ministers in Brussels this week, but to no avail. "Since both ministers were in touch with me, we tried to organize a trilateral meeting in the format of the European Union, Armenia and Azerbaijan. It turned out to be impossible, so I will meet with both ministers separately", Borrell said.
The sitting of the EU-Armenia Partnership Council was held in Brussels on December 17, with the participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ara Aivazian. On Friday, December 18, a meeting of the EU-Azerbaijan Cooperation Council will be held, where Borel will hold talks with the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
