During the sitting of the CIS Council of Heads of State, the Russian President Vladimir Putin touched upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The Russian leader said that a large number of people had died as a result of the hostilities.
According to Vladimir Putin, the escalation of the conflict in Karabakh has also increased the risk of terrorism spreading in the region. "Russian peacekeepers are doing everything possible to prevent a new escalation in Karabakh, and now we must help restore a peaceful life", he said, stressing that appropriate steps must be taken to provide humanitarian assistance to the people affected by the conflict.
Poitin also considered important the role of Russia and the world in the restoration and preservation of damaged cultural monuments in the territory of Nagorno Karabakh.
