The RA Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian, who is in Belgium on a working visit to participate in the sitting of the Armenia-EU Partnership Council, met with Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sophie Wilmes.
The Foreign Ministers discussed issues of further strengthening cooperation on bilateral and multilateral platforms and expanding cooperation in the areas of mutual interest.
The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Belgium also touched upon issues related to regional security. Minister Aivazian presented to his interlocutor the steps taken to eliminate the consequences of the Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression against the people of Artsakh, which are aimed primarily at addressing the humanitarian crisis in Artsakh.
In this context, the Foreign Ministers stressed the importance of the direct involvement of the international community, particularly the EU countries. The interlocutors attached special importance to addressing the issues of peaceful settlement within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing.
