The Kapan Mayor Gevorg Parsyan briefed "Lurer" on the situation in Syunik, referring to the Defense Ministry's instruction to retreat from some positions.
As for the Goris-Kapan road section, which is partially out of the control of the Armenian side, Parsyan said that according to his information, the Russian border guards will be on duty there.
"This morning, the Ministry of Defense ordered our servicemen to give up their positions by 5 pm tomorrow, That positions are beneficial for us, more favorable. They are beneficial because, to a large extent, we have ensured the security of our community and our population. The distance from the residential area of Kapan city will be 1 km, which is a serious problem.
In addition, there are other problems with the highway, the airport, the villages, the roads leading to the villages. I can clearly say that we will do everything in our power to ensure the security of the population", said the mayor of Kapan.
