The Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar has stated that the imposition of US sanctions against Ankara over its acquisition of Russian S-400 anti-missile systems has undermined their alliance's values. He called for renewed cooperation between NATO allies. This was reported by Reuters.
"These sanctions have undermined the whole value system of our alliance. Returning to cooperation and solidarity with the United States will be an important contribution to regional and global peace and security", Akar said.
The United States imposed sanctions on Turkey's defense industry on Monday.
