The representative of the Republic of Armenia before the ECHR Yeghishe Kirakosyan issued a statement, which reads:
"As it is known, 44 officially confirmed captives were transferred from Azerbaijan to Armenia yesterday, for 26 of which the Armenian government submitted demands for interim measures to the European Court of Human Rights.
During all this time, the Office of the Representative of the Republic of Armenia to the ECHR coordinated the work aimed at the protection of the convention rights of our compatriots and was actively in touch with the relatives of the captives.
The Office of the Representative of the Republic of Armenia to the ECHR continues its daily work to address the violations committed by the Azerbaijani side, including the protection of the convention rights of the captives.
The RA Office to the ECHR also thanks all the agencies, international partners and human rights defenders who have cooperated and continue to cooperate with the Office in defense of the rights of our compatriots.
Due to security reasons, as well as the peculiarities of competence, not all the work done by us is published on a daily basis, in connection with which we thank you for your understanding.
PS: We urge you to refrain from publishing or circulating the names or photos of returned captives”.
