"On December 11, 2020, Azerbaijani armed forces took offensive actions towards the villages of Hin Tagger and Khtsaberd Gadrutsky district, resulting in six Defense Army soldiers injured varying degrees of gravity. The provocative actions of the Azerbaijani side continued on December 13 in the direction of the villages of Metz Shen and Hin Shen of Shushi district.
Russian peacekeeping forces deployed in the Republic of Artsakh were immediately informed about the violations of the ceasefire by Azerbaijan side. As a result of the intervention of Russian peacekeepers, hostilities were ceased, additional observation posts of peacekeeping forces were also installed to monitor the situation and control the ceasefire regime.
The provocative actions of the Azerbaijani side on December 11-13 are a gross violation of the trilateral ceasefire statement dated November 9, 2020 Azerbaijan's failure to comply with its international commitments, extremely neglectful attitude towards the agreed mediation format of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair, artificial dragging by Baku to resume political process on the peaceful settlement of the Azerbaijan-Karabakh conflict and the military force continue to be the main source of threats in the region and obstacles to establishing a long-term and lasting peace.
Azerbaijan's actions, which are obviously a continuation of Baku's invaderative policy and an attempt to expand the occupation zone in Artsakh, as well as in general, seizing a large part of Artsakh and ethnic cleansing should be awarded the strictest condemnation by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs and the international community as a whole.
The Republic of Artsakh, for its part, will continue to make consistent efforts to international recognition of Artsakh in order to achieve a peaceful settlement of the Azerbaijan-Karabakh conflict and to achieve de-occupation of the territory of the republic and return its population to its former places of residence".
