The Spokeswoman for the RA Prime Minister Mane Gevorgyan responded to the statements made by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Baku today. In a conversation with "Armenpress", Mane Gevorgyan, in particular, noted.
"We strongly condemn the provocative statements made by the Azerbaijani leader in Baku today. The statement on territorial ambitions towards Armenia casts serious doubt on Azerbaijan's readiness for peace and endangers regional peace and security.
The statements of the President of Azerbaijan that it resolved the Karabakh conflict by military means once again show who is the initiator of the war and the use of force and who is trying to lead the region to further destabilization.
These statements make the international recognition of the Artsakh Armenians' right to self-determination more than actual as a way to prevent new Azerbaijani genocidal aspirations towards the Artsakh Armenians.
Aliyev and Erdogan's statements contradict the spirit and provisions of the November 9 trilateral statement. Talking to the Armenian people from a threatening position is reprehensible and cannot lead to lasting stability in the South Caucasus. The glorification of the architects of the Armenian Genocide, the Young Turk ideologues by the President of Turkey is also strongly condemned. Such manifestations call into question Turkey's statements, including its readiness to promote regional peace and stability.
During a military parade in Baku, Aliyev called Yerevan, Sevan and Zangezur "Azerbaijani territories", and Erdogan called the day "a day of enlightenment for Enver Pasha, Nuri Pasha and the soldiers of the Islamic Army of the Caucasus".
