The OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs will be in Baku and Yerevan this weekend for talks on a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. This was reported by the Public Radio of Armenia.
The statement came from Philip Reeker, US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, speaking at a briefing for members of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
According to him, Washington continues to call on Azerbaijan and Armenia to resolve the Karabakh conflict in the format of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs. Reeker said that US Co-Chair Andrew Schofer is in Geneva and is holding meetings within the framework of the Geneva process on Georgia.
"This weekend he will travel with the other Minsk Group co-chairs to two capitals, both Baku and Yerevan, to see where we can move forward in the diplomatic settlement of the conflict", Reeker said.
He added that the format of the Minsk Group is successful in itself, as a significant part, 30 years, was peace, "even fragile." Reeker noted that the United States insists that a "stable solution" be worked out at the negotiating table.
