1,136 people arrived in Stepanakert by buses from Yerevan. The movement of buses returning to Nagorno-Karabakh was controlled by the Russian peacekeeping force and military police patrols, tvzvezda.ru reports.
"When I learned that the Russian soldiers were here, I realized that my wife and I would continue to live in Nagorno-Karabakh. I have always said that the Russian people are our brothers", Mikhail from Artsakh thanked the military.
The military peacekeepers of the Russian Federation are monitoring the situation around the clock and are observing the ceasefire regime in 23 observation posts, ensuring the safe return of citizens to their places of permanent residence. The military provides humanitarian assistance and rebuilds civilian infrastructure.
In total, more than 36,000 Artsakhis have already returned to their permanent residences in Nagorno-Karabakh since the signing of a statement on cessation of hostilities between the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
