The President of Russia had a phone conversation with the Chancellor of Germany. Vladimir Putin and Angela Merkel discussed the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh.
Putin spoke of mediation efforts to end hostilities, as well as the activities of Russian peacekeepers stationed along the line of contact and the Lachin corridor at the request of Baku and Yerevan.
It was stressed that the consistent implementation of the agreements reached in the November 9 statement of the Presidents of Russia, Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia contributes to the general stabilization of the situation in the region.
The importance of solving the problems of the population affected by the hostilities was stressed. The parties expressed readiness to cooperate within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group, according to the Kremlin's official website.
