In his speech at the online session of the CSTO Collective Security Council on December 2, the Russian President Vladimir Putin referred to the hostilities in Karabakh. He reminded that the trilateral statement of November 9 made it possible to stop the bloodshed completely, and now the situation is being settled.
"Everyone knows that Russia's active mediation efforts were needed to prevent bloodshed in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, to achieve a complete ceasefire and to begin the stabilization process. At the same time, we followed the cornerstone agreements reached through the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs. Now the trilateral statement of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan is being consistently implemented. Russian peacekeepers are deployed on the conflict line and in the Lachin corridor", he said.
Putin stressed the importance of providing systematic assistance to the victims of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone and the return of the displaced. "It is important to help solve the humanitarian problems regarding the return of displaced persons, the repair of destroyed infrastructure, and the protection of cultural and religious monuments. The Russian side, in cooperation with Yerevan and Baku, is already dealing with all these issues", Putin said.
