On December 1, a regular sitting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CSTO member states was been held in the format of a video conference, which was attended by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Vagharshak Harutyunyan. During the meeting, the Defense Ministers exchanged views on international and regional security issues in the CSTO Collective Security zones, the RA Ministry of Defense reported.
"The RA Minister of Defense informed his colleagues about the situation in Nagorno Karabakh, especially mentioning the issue of significant reduction of the deadlines for the implementation of crisis response mechanisms in the CSTO member states. Vagharshak Harutyunyan paid special attention to the efforts of the Russian Federation aimed at stabilizing the military-political situation in the region, the course and efficiency of the Russian peacekeeping mission in Artsakh, emphasizing humanitarian activities. He also stressed the importance of finding and exchanging the bodies of victims, captives, hostages and the missing.
The next meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CSTO member states is scheduled for the first half of 2021 in the Republic of Tajikistan", the Defense Ministry said.
