The first units of the special medical detachment of the RF Eastern Military District arrived in Stepanakert to provide assistance to the local population. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The units of military doctors traveled 300 kilometers from Yerevan to Stepanakert in a column, and earlier they were transported from Khabarovsk to Yerevan by IL-76 planes.
The convoy was accompanied by Russian peacekeepers and military police patrols. The first unit of the special medical unit has more than 60 doctors, including military surgeons, anesthesiologists-resuscitators, therapists and epidemiologists.
Medical equipment will be installed in a specialized medical center to provide quality medical care.
