The Lawyers Siranush Sahakyan and Artak Zeynalyan said that the European Court of Human Rights had upheld their appeals to protect the rights of servicemen and captives detained during the large-scale war against Artsakh.
"The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) upheld our applications on 23.11.2020 and on 27.11.2020 for protection of the rights of captured servicemen and detained civilians during the large-scale war waged by Azerbaijan against Artsakh.
The captives are:
Vahe Arakelyan,
Hayk Arevshatyan,
Melkon Hovhannisyan,
Artak Stepanyan,
Nairi Ghukasyan,
Erik Khachatryan,
Robert Vardanyan,
Narek Sirunyan,
Karen Manukyan,
Arayik Galstyan.
The arrested civilians are:
Jonik Tevosyan, Edward and Arega Shahgeldyan.
The European Court of Human Rights has requested documented information from the Azerbaijani government about their detention, whereabouts, detention conditions and medical care. The court has set a deadline of 30.11.2020 and 04.12.2020, respectively, to provide the required information", the statement issued by the lawyers reads.
