The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia has issued a statement, which particularly says:
"On November 9, a trilateral statement signed between the Prime Minister of Armenia, the Presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan, stipulated that the Karvachar region of the Artsakh Republic should come under the control of Azerbaijan from November 15. Later, due to the lack of time for the process, the deadline was extended to November 25.
On the mentioned day, the Armenian units were withdrawn from the Karvachar region, which, according to the provisions of the statement, passed to Azerbaijan, as a result of which a new border was formed between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Before the full and accurate demarcation of the mentioned section between Armenia and Azerbaijan, gates were temporarily installed in order to stop the traffic to Karvachar and back.
Today, with the participation of the representatives of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan, demarcation works, using special means (GPS), started. Part of the demarcation work is being carried out in the part of the Sotk mine, which was part of the Karvachar region of the Artsakh Republic.
Accurate full demarcation is crucial to avoid disputes over ownership of this or that part of the border and possible further provocations. We should also add that the armed forces of Armenia and Azerbaijan will deploy their military bases and carry out combat duty within the specified borders as a result of the demarcation".
