The Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia has published the preliminary current-operational macroeconomic indicators characterizing the socio-economic situation in October.
Accordingly, Armenia's economic activity index in January-October of this year decreased by 6.7% compared to the same period of the last year.
The volume of industrial production increased by 0.5%. The volume of construction in January-October this year decreased by 13.3% compared to the same period last year. The trade turnover in January-October decreased by 12.5%, and the volume of services provided decreased by 12.8%.
Electricity production increased by 1.7%. In January-October of this year, compared to the same period last year, the foreign trade turnover decreased by 11.4%, with exports decreasing by 4.4% and imports by 14.9%.
Although key economic indicators have declined over the past ten months, some growth was recorded in October compared to September. In particular, industry grew by 3.2 percent, construction by 3 percent and imports by 1.2 percent.
