In an interview with Petros Ghazaryan, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan referred to many details related to the adopted joint statement.
Pashinyan again mentioned that the difficult decision was made as a result of the analysis of the military situation.
"The cornerstone factor that resulted in the signing of that agreement was the record of the fact that, in fact, the city of Stepanakert remained unprotected after the fall of Shushi, and if we do not stop the war within hours, Stepanakert will fall, and then, automatically, Askeran and Martakert. Depending on the scenarios, 20-30 thousand of our soldiers would appear in a blockade," said the Prime Minister.
Questioned "Why wasn't the issue discussed with the opposition in the National Assembly?", Pashinyan mentioned that it happened in the logic of operative management of military operations.
"Now it is frequently discussed what was handed over with this signature, but the reality is that this document is about keeping rather than handing over. It was created in a situation when the predictable losses should have taken place according to the military assessment, they were registered in order to save the lives of about 30 thousand of our servicemen," Pashinyan mentioned.
