The first President of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan referred to the Russia-Armenia-Azerbaijan trilateral agreement, emphasizing that due to the latter the war is over and there will be no more new casualties.
"The statement of the Armenian National Congress, both in the current government and in the camp of the diverse radical opposition, has misled many people in the sense that we are supporting one of the mentioned camps. Obviously, we are neither a participant nor a supporter in the current struggle for power. We are only concerned with avoiding a civil war, overcoming the current crisis only in a constitutional way, regardless of which of the opposing camps will solve this problem. The most desirable option, of course, is a reasonable agreement between the two sides.
As for the Russia-Armenia-Azerbaijan trilateral agreement, which caused the internal political confrontation, it should be perceived as an established reality, considering at least the important fact that due to it the war is over, and there will be no more casualties. The process of final settlement of the Karabakh conflict is a matter of the near future, to which Armenia must be ready in all seriousness," said the first President of Armenia.
