"We are living difficult times, this is our burden, and we must bear it as a nation, but we must also think about our future. We must have a vision of the future of Nagorno Karabakh, because the struggle for Artsakh did not end with this. It would be very good if the issue was finally settled, but, unfortunately, it was not.
The next question is whether we continue to fight for the rights of Nagorno Karabakh and its people," said Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in an interview with Public TV commentator Petros Ghazaryan.
According to the Prime Minister, the first step is the return of the people of Artsakh to their settlements.
"Those distinctions must be restored, the infrastructures must be restored, investments must be made, a natural environment must be created for a creative and peaceful life. Now there are peacekeepers who ensure the security of the Armenians of at least one part of Nagorno Karabakh, in the other part the right of our compatriots to return is ensured. Now we must work to exercise that right and to ensure their dignity and security.
The road through the Lachin corridor will function, people will be able to trip through that corridor provided by the Russian peacekeepers. In other words, normal life must be restored at least in the territory under the control of the Artsakh authorities as soon as possible," the Prime Minister said.
The peacekeepers are a warrant that war will not start, or at least will not gain volume. The purpose of the peacekeepers is to ensure the security of those people, the Prime Minister said.
