Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the "Bright Armenia" faction of the National Assembly, said on Facebook live stream that he was in favor of lifting the martial law today so that political and civil processes could develop in the country. However, at the urging of the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, he decided to come up with a proposal a week later.
Marukyan said that the Chief of the General Staff substantiated it with some issues related to the war which have not been finally resolved yet.
