Today, 10 Armenian journalistic organizations issued a joint statement strongly condemning the attack on RFE / RL's Yerevan office.
The statement, in particular, reads:
"On November 10, dozens of men tried to break into RFE / RL's Yerevan office, knocking on doors with their feet and fists and cursing employees. They also threatened not to allow the broadcast of "Azatutyun".
We, the undersigned journalistic organizations, express our indignation over this unrest and consider any violence, pressure or harassment against journalists and the media unacceptable for Armenia at this crucial moment.
In connection with what happened, we demand from the law enforcement bodies to take immediate measures to find and bring to justice the initiators and perpetrators of the attack on the radio station”.
