The RA Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan mentioned during the joint sitting of the NA committees on health and social, financial-credit and budget issues that he expects a small increase in the health budget in 2021. The approved budget for 2020 was 27.1 billion drams at the beginning of the year, and 27.9 billion drams is envisaged for 2021.
Torosyan noted that the numbers of coronavirus cases are increasing day by day.
"We all know very well that we have a growing number of infected people. Today we have 1042 new cases out of 2358 tests, so our total numbers are 107 thousand 466, which, of course, is very large. Today we had 21 deaths, the total number of deaths is high again", Torosyan said.
Working in a tense and over-mobilized state, the health care system has no drawbacks in providing adequate medical care to those ijnured in the war. I can say that we cover the healthcare field 100%, moreover, we also have reserves, even for some other healthcare sectors", said Torosyan.
In the case of Covid-19, according to the minister, the picture is different. "Despite the mobilization, we have limited resources. Resources are used as directed. Our task is to hospitalize and provide assistance to critically and extremely critically ill patients, and to try treating at home patients who are not in serious but light condition", Torosyan said, adding that as of this morning there are 861 infected citizens waiting to be hospitalized.
