Iran will not tolerate the deployment of Israeli intelligence bases near its borders, according to the Iranian daily Kayhan, said the Spokesman of the Iranian Armed Forces Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi.
Referring to the border security of Iran in the context of the war between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the high-ranking Iranian official particularly noted, "Our demand is that terrorist groups should not be able to establish themselves in the region in any way. The presence of terrorists is unacceptable for us."
Referring to Israel, General Shekarchi added, "The issue of the deployment of Israeli intelligence bases is in the center of our attention. We will never allow Israeli bases to be located on the Iranian border in the conflict zone."
The high-ranking Iranian military staff has repeatedly expressed its concern about the dangers expected from Israel from the territory of Azerbaijan.
