The registration of Artsakh schoolchildren refuged in Armenia and calculation of their educational needs has started, Lusine Gharakhanyan, Minister of Education, Science and Culture of Artsakh Republic (Nagorno Karabakh) told at the press conference today.
According to Gharakhanyan, 24,000 schoolchildren were deprived of their right to education due to the war. The rights of about 30,000 students were violated, of whom 24,000 were schoolchildren, about 4,000 - preschool children, and the rest - college and university students.
"As the hostilities are still ongoing, and we do not have the opportunity to organize any level of education for our students in Artsakh, therefore, we decided to arrange the education of our displaced pupils and students in Armenia by the end of the war," Gharakhanyan said.
She informed that the teachers of Artsakh temporarily sheltered in Armenia will have the opportunity to teach in schools. As for the universities, according to Gharakhanyan, they hold classes online during the war.
