In particular, the situation around Nagorno Karabakh was discussed during the conversation. The sides expressed serious concern over the ongoing large-scale hostilities in the conflict zone and the more active involvement of extremists displaced from Syria and Libya.
Vladimir Putin briefed Emmanuel Macron on the steps taken by Russia for speedy ceasefire and the resumption of talks aimed at resolving the issue by political and diplomatic means.
The parties reaffirmed their commitment to continue the coordinated mediation efforts of Russia and France, including within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.
