Today, the President Armen Sarkissian received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Armenia Vincenzo Del Monaco, who is completing his diplomatic mission in our country.
The RA President highly assessed the work of Ambassador Del Monaco and thanked him for his personal contribution and efforts in the development and deepening of the Armenian-Italian relations.
During the meeting, they also spoke about the military aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan and Turkey against Artsakh. The parties stressed that there is no military solution to the conflict and the settlement of the issue is possible only through negotiations.
They also touched upon the current level of Armenian-Italian relations and the development potential. It was noted that the historical and cultural ties between the two friendly peoples are a good basis for establishing closer relations in the future.
Ambassador Vincenzo Del Monaco thanked the President Sarkissian for his tremendous contribution to bilateral relations. "I am very sorry that I have to leave Armenia when there is so much suffering and loss of human life. I take with me the trace of your friendship, Armenian trace wonderful people. At the same time, I am so sad to leave in such conditions", the ambassador said.
