"The fighting around Shushi has not stopped for about two days. Today and last night there were quite intense, heavy battles in the settlements around Shushi, near Shushi and on the roads leading to Shushi. If May 8, 1992 entered the Armenian history as the day of the liberation of Shushi, these days in the Armenian history will probably enter as brilliant days of the defense of Shushi", Artsrun Hovhannisyan, the representative of the RA Ministry of Defense, stated during today's briefings.
"The operation to destroy the enemy's reconnaissance and subversive groups, mercenaries and bandits continues successfully.Today our artillery, our infantry, our other subdivisions have worked miracles. Dozens, if not hundreds of corpses are left from the enemy troops and mercenaries in the gorges leading to Shushi. Relevant videos and photo materials will be available in the near future", Hovhannisyan stated.
He said that the fighting is still going on, but the intensity has significantly weakened. He noted that the inhabitants of the heroic Karintak also took part in the defeat of the new enemy troops on the roads leading to Shushi.
"Today was one of the days of heroic defense of Shushi․ Shushi is ours․ Shushi will not fall, no matter how much Aliyev dreams of it, you just trust, be filled with confidence, the Armenian army will fight to the end and Shushi will not fall", Hovhannisyan stressed.
