RF President Vladimir Putin met with representatives of religious associations in Russia via video conference. This is reported by the official website of the Kremlin.
The meeting was also attended by the primate of the New Nakhichevan and Russian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Ezras Nersisyan.
Referring to the conflict in Nagorno Karabakh, RF President Vladimir Putin assured that the Russian side is doing and will do everything in its power to cease the conflict.
"It is necessary to save the lives of people who are facing each other under the fire of rifles, using weapons against each other to achieve the goals that, in our view, can be achieved through a peaceful negotiation process," he said.
Vladimir Putin added that Russia is in touch with both Armenia and Azerbaijan. He expressed hope that it will be possible to achieve an outcome that will be acceptable for all people living in the region, and to achieve it peacefully.
