The work of the ombudsman's office has recently focused on the war unleashed by Azerbaijan since September 27, against Artsakh and Armenia. The RA Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan said this in the parliament.
According to him, their research has shown that it is about targeted attacks on the population of both Armenia and Artsakh, peaceful settlements, and in the case of Artsakh, according to him, an attempt is made to inflict as much damage as possible.
Tatoyan noted that the enemy targeted the peaceful settlements of two regions of Armenia, Gegharkunik and Syunik, unfortunately, there are fatalities, wounded.
According to the RA Ombudsman, they work intensively with the Artsakh Ombudsman's Office, also within the framework of a fact-finding mission. "Behind all this, we must find the real motives, goals. "Targeted, armed attacks on peaceful settlements with prohibited weapons, such as cluster bombs and weapons of mass destruction containing chemical elements, make clear Azerbaijan's goal of harming residents and civilian facilities", Tatoyan said.
According to him, anti-Armenianism in Azerbaijan has state support, is encouraged at a high political level, hatred during the war is manifested by the distribution of cruel videos, particularly depicting Armenian prisoners of war.
"Hate in Azerbaijan starts with politicians and ends with cultural figures, it is encouraged, praised, there is a feast on social networks with exceptional cynicism", Tatoyan said, adding that this is done to gain an advantage in the moral and psychological sphere.
Tatoyan also stated - it is clear that Azerbaijan commits war crimes at the hands of mercenary terrorists brought from Syria. He said that they will be consistent and will raise all issues in international structures.
