Turkey is challenging the sovereign rights of Greece and jeopardizing peace and stability in the wider region, citing the statement of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff (HNDS) chief general Konstantinos Floros, writes Ermenihaber.
Floros said that Turkey attempts to contest and seize Greek exclusive economic zone (EEZ) and continental shelf, thus pursuing its rationalist policy in the eastern Mediterranean.
Floros stressed that the Greek armed forces are a strong pillar of stability in the eastern Mediterranean, while continuing to defend the sovereign rights and interests of the European Union. “This is a point to be made loud and clear. We are protecting, not only the Greek borders and interests, but also the European ones,” he said.
