A briefing was held at the NKR InforCenter of the Artsakh capital, which was also attended by Egyptian human rights activist Majed El Shafie.
"I do not believe that any government in the world has the right to decide how people to live and how to orient themselves in the Artsakh Republic. In my opinion, no UN resolution, no government in the world can decide your right to live or not to live here, that right belongs to you. The people of Artsakh have made their decision to live independently and are ready to fight for the implementation of that decision, moreover, until death", said the Egyptian human rights activist.
El Shafie also referred to war crimes on the battlefield. According to him, it does not matter at all whether the country is recognized or not, the people living there are people who have the right to be protected.
"We have seen rocket-hit churches. It is surprising to me that no one is being held accountable for these war crimes and the international community is not taking any serious steps to combat these crimes", El Shafie said.
