"Early this morning, earlier than usual, the Azerbaijani armed forces launched an attack in several directions". The representative of the RA Ministry of Defense Artsrun Hovhannisyan informed about that during the briefing.
According to him, first after a short artillery training in the northern direction, the infantry tried to attack several positions, but were immediately destroyed, suffered heavy losses and were thrown back, leaving a significant number of corpses in the field.
Hovhannisyan also said that the fighting continued throughout the day in the southern direction, north of the Araks River. He emphasized that our armed forces have certain positional advantages in the direction of several heights, but the battles have continued, and he cannot say anything definite about this direction at the moment.
"Two separate processes took place in the central direction. First, in the direction of Martuni-Chartar, they tried to break through the front all day with rather intensive combat operations, mainly with attacker groups, under artillery fire. Our armed forces did not retreat. At the moment there is no change of position in that direction, but the battles are persistent.
"Although we have very good results, significant groups have been neutralized, military base was destroyed, but the fighting continues. Small groups sometimes appear in this or that forest, in this or that settlement, suffer losses, retreat and try again", Hovhannisyan said.
The representative of the RA Ministry of Defense also referred to the video published today about the captured terrorist, noting:
"According to our reliable data, these terrorist gangs are, in fact, used by the Azerbaijani armed forces as cannon fodder, as a living force to overcome the minefields", Hovhannisyan said, drawing the world's attention to all this.
Hovhannisyan also informed that the fighting continues, but the war has lost its intensity a bit.
