"The issue of Moscow's intervention must be viewed in several ways. Moscow is the co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, and at the same time Armenia's strategic partner", said RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in an interview with authoritative European media, answering the question if he intends to apply to Moscow to intervene.
"Moscow is the co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, is a mediator and must act in the logic of balancing, which is understandable. I said that I am in favor of the deployment of Russian peacekeepers in the conflict zone. But the problem is that the deployment of Russian peacekeepers in the conflict zone must be acceptable to all parties of the conflict.
In fact, it is acceptable for Armenia and Karabakh, but as Russian counterparts said, it can happen only if Azerbaijan is also in favor of it. Any peacekeeper can be deployed only by the agreement of both parties. As for Armenia's strategic partner Moscow, our Russian partners have said that in case of a real threat to Armenia's territorial integrity, they will fulfill their allied obligations, including military ones", he said. To the question whether any other country came up with a proposal to send foreign peacekeeping forces to Nagorno Karabakh, Pashinyan noted: "There is no other country, but this topic has always been raised in the negotiation process. There are different opinions about the composition of peacekeeping forces. We think the optimal solution is to deploy Russian peacekeepers".
