On October 28, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian had a telephone conversation. The Russian Foreign Ministry informs about this.
During the conversation the ministers expressed serious concern over the ongoing large-scale hostilities and called on the conflicting parties to a speedy and complete ceasefire.
"The fact that there is no alternative to a diplomatic settlement of the conflict and the need for further coordinated action by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs was stressed. Possible scenarios for further development of the situation were also discussed", the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Lavrov and Le Drian stressed the importance of demonstrating the political will of the conflicting parties to cease hostilities. The ministers also discussed a number of issues on the bilateral agenda.
