This is one of the most heavily damaged houses in Nenghee village. Three or four people were lightly wounded here. The shell landed very close to this home, creating holes in its floors and greatly weakening its structure. Thankfully, no one was killed in this village.
Villager:
“I was struck as well. I was very lucky. We were inside having lunch, when we heard the explosion”.
Reporter:
“Did you see the shell hit?”
Villager:
“Yes, we did, me and my family took cover immediately”.
Reporter:
“So you stayed in your home and you’re not planning on leaving it, are you”?
Villager:
“Of course, where am I to go”?
Residents of the village said the shell landed from a fighter jet, because only an aircraft bomb has the sort of strings and parachute attached to them. This is why the destruction here, near the house is much greater than the one from a regular artillery strikes.
Villager 2:
“I was about 50 meters away when I saw an airplane descending. I called out for people to take cover, I told that a plane is coming. I was getting close to my home when I saw something with a parachute trailing behind it falling towards our village”.
